Happy Birthday, Dad!

July 20th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Today is my Dad’s 78th birthday.  He passed away, also today, in 1994.  We miss you, Dad.  Hope you’re having a great birthday.

Dear Donovan, How thoughtful of you to post this picture in memory of your dads birthday on the 20th, but, that doesn’t surprise me as you are the most thoughtful, understanding, kind and loving man, father and son that I know.. Your dad would be just as proud of you as we all are…

Have to tell you that Bob and Don went all 12 yrs of school together, just think how the setting was every year.. Knechtenhofer, Lambright & Mack… no need to tell you what that poor teacher went through every year, Bob could tell you some good stories if you want to hear them.. oh my… they did have fun.

Our 2nd son Donald Ray was born on July 20, 1957, your dad came to visit us at the hospital, he brought a lovely silver spoon for him, on the card he wrote, he has be a dandy with a name like that.. and yes, he is a dandy and can pull some of the stunts that another Don could pull.. ha ha

I enjoy keeping up with your sweet family through your blog, have your Christmas family picture on my window by my computer along with our ggrandaughter Bree.. soon I’ll have a picture of our new ggson Aiden, he is a couple of weeks old now.. I glance at them many times a day.

I’m anxious to hear what you’ll name this new little girl.. Now Rayna will have a sister to love, play with and fight with.. that just goes along with it.

Again, glad your sweet mother sent this to me, she is one in a million too. There is a crown waiting in heaven for her.. God bless you all, Bev & Bob Knechtenhofer
